PuzzlePhone adalah project untuk membangun sebuah smartphone bersifat modular serta dapat di-upgrade, di-customize dan diperbaiki oleh penggunanya sendiri. Project ini diciptakan oleh seorang Founder dan CEO Alejandro Santacreu di Finlandia. Saat ini Puzzlephone menerima funding melalui indiegogo.
Konsep dari PuzzlePhone itu sendiri yaitu mengkonsolidasikan partisi yang terbagi atas otak (brain) pada bagian 1, tulang (Spine) pada bagian 2 yang memegang layar dan hati (heart) pada bagian 3 yang merupakan tempat baterai dan elektronik lainnya.
Setiap modul tadi di satukan dengan sekrup. Ide dari puzzlephone yaitu mencoba memberikan peluang bagi pengembang , ntah itu dari samsung, sony, dll untuk membuat modul atau mendaur ulang modul
yang mereka miliki, sehingga megurangi limbah elektronik. PuzzlePhone mengklaim siklus hidup dari perangkat mereka yaitu 10 tahun. Saat pertama kali diperkenalkan pada indiegogo, 21 jam pertama, project ini telah menerima sekitar $ 34.000 - $ 250.000.
Selain IndieGoGo, PuzzlePhone menerima dana dari Badan Pendanaan Finlandia untuk Teknologi dan Inovasi dan hibah dari program Uni Eropa Horizon 2020. Jika dana terpenuhi, PuzzlePhone berharap dapat melakukan pengembangan software pada paruh pertama tahun depan sebelum produksi massal dan proses pengiriman produk satuan dimulai pada musim gugur.
